Case Study: Bounce from Glory /
Summary
How would you make a compelling narrative about a tennis ball’s
journey from the IDT lab to the Georgia Tech fountain, all the while
considering film theory concepts such as focalization and perspective?
That was the challenge presented to us by Professor Michael Nitsche
in the IDT core class “Design Technology and Representation.”
The task requirements included a film length
restriction of close to two minutes, and a location restriction
for our team constrained to the Skiles courtyard. With my co-creator
Jeff Crouse, we produced a story of a tennis ball's introspection
and nostalgia for days gone by.
