New Puzzle Screen

Here you'll be importing a picture to use as a base for the puzzle. Click the New Picture button and navigate to the picture you'd like to use. You may use files ending with .png, .gif, .jpeg, or .jpg.We've included a few pictures in the SamplePictures folder to get you started.

At this point, you should see your picture, ready to be turned into a puzzle. The window in the left will show you a smaller version of your picture, to let you know we got it, and a few sample pieces, to let you know how difficult a puzzle you're making.

On the right, there are several options you can use to make a puzzle easier or harder. Go ahead and move them around, the puzzle won't be created until you click on "Go".

Number of Pieces

Move the slider to change the number of pieces your puzzle is split into.

Unfilled Pieces or Filled Pieces

When you create a puzzle, the pieces can be "Unfilled", which means that the only images you'll see on the pieces are part of the final puzzle. Any space in between the images are left blank. If you want more of a challenge, you can have "Filled Pieces", which means that the space between the images are filled with copies of the images, just to be extra misleading.

Regular Edges, Square Edges, or Ragged Edges

This option lets you select how long the pieces will be.

Extra Pieces

Just in case the puzzle isn't hard enough with the other options, our most insidious option is to add extra pieces that look just like real pieces, but don't fit in the final puzzle at all!

If you decide you'd rather use a different picture, click on the New Picture button. Or, if you decide you'd rather not create a new puzzle at all, click Cancel.

Once you're happy with the puzzle settings, click Go to create the puzzle.
