Zoolanders

Zoolanders was a project dedicated to creating a novel system for teaching children about animals. Initiated for a class in Human-Computer Interaction, our team of 4 worked with the Director and the Manager of Public Programs of Zoo Atlanta.
We applied a complete iterative HCI process from user analysis to user testing and evaluation of our prototypes.

The final design used a prototype of Mel, a goat "statue" that detected touching direction, force, and location. This input affected Nicole, an onscreen goat that spoke and visually animated accordingly. A 'wizard of oz' user test showed it had great potential, and the zoo kept our work on file.
