NeuroWeb Redesign

As the webmaster for The Laboratory for Neuroengineering (NeuroLab) at Georgia Tech, I inherited a site that did not meet the 7 faculty members' expectations, and did not reflect and hilite the content. I pitched the user-centered iterative design process, developed a schedule, got unanimous sign-offs at critical junctures, designed and deployed the current website (went live January 2005).

I ran initial user tests on the old site and mined webtracking data to identify problems with branding, hierarchy, and navigation labeling. Heuristic analyses guided wireframe and navigation development, and user evaluations showed vast improvements in usability. I also interviewed NeuroLab members and surveyed the 7 constituent professors about their ideal sites, negotiating their divergent views throughout the design process.
